About Department of political science
Department of Political Science has been introduced in the college under notification no 138-HE or 1995 dated 31/03/1995. In 2015 the enrollment for BG IST year was 200 and in the current session 2016-17 the enrollment is more than 300 students. To impart quality education the department has engaged a contractual lecturer appointed by the nodal agency.
Achievements of the department:
The success rate of the students has been showing an increasing trend due to improvement in the infrastructure, timely availability of books in the library, well and qualified staff. Students are participating in different co-curricular activities due to proper facility and support of the teaching and non-teaching staff in the college. In addition to this many students are showing a keen interest for the competitive exams due to improvement and modification in the methods of teaching in the class rooms but the infrastructure has not been fully developed in the department due to that students are still facing the difficulties in the classrooms during the study. The pass percentage of third year students has also shown a continuous improvement.
|1.First and foremost aim is to inculcate quality learning and teaching process in the field of Political Science.|
|2. To make students to prepare for different competitive exams in which the Political Science is a major subject.|
|3. To motivate students to undertake Political Science as their subject in P.G courses and also to undertake research in different fields of the subject.|
|4.To undertake steps so that there should be development in the existing infrastructure and provide students a good quality study material.|
|5. Prepare students and make them ready to participate in seminars so that there will be addition in their knowledge about the subject.|
